As part of
our repositioning of Pelican Bay as the hotel of choice when visiting Grand
Bahama Island, we are investing over $7 million in the development of The Canal
House, a five story building offering a total of 30,680 square feet (2,850
square meters) of highly flexible meeting and function space, opening in early
2010. The Canal House includes a new breakfast and special function restaurant
of 3,120 square feet (290 square meters), an intimate, ballroom style meeting
room with wrap around balconies of 3,110 square feet (289 square meters) and
four additional meeting rooms, each offering 655 square feet (61 square
meters). Two of our smaller meeting rooms can be combined into one room of
1,310 square feet (122 square meters), and one will serve in as a boardroom
style space.
Our Canal
House is designed to cater to small corporate meetings and conferences, as well
as Destination weddings and other social functions, where attendees can conduct
or attend a meeting in a fun, tropical, authentically Bahamian atmosphere
including four acres of colorful, lush tropical gardens. Ideal for board
meetings and corporate retreats, The Canal House will allow Pelican Bay to
further enhance our reputation of a quiet, waterfront refuge in the heart of
all. Within steps of our resort are over 30 restaurants, bars, including Sabor
Restaurant and Bar in the garden overlooking the marina and bay at Pelican Bay,
shops, live entertainment, the Dolphin Experience, scuba diving, snorkeling,
and deep-sea fishing. Immediately across the street are two miles of white sand
beach, a full service spa, all four "Grand Slam" surface tennis courts and a
casino. The perfect opportunity to work in the middle of an abundant playground
