We wanted to extend a personal thank you to each and every employee of Pelican Bay at Lucaya for making our visit so very memorable and special. Our accomodations were outstanding and the kindness and helpfulness of your staff was uncomprised. You could not ask for better than you provided for us each and everyday of our stay. We will highly recommend Pelican Bay at Lucaya as the place to stay when visiting Grand Bahamas.

We also wanted to let you know that although we found our visit to the Ferry House to be very much the opposite with the wait staff being rude and uncaring, we can only sing however the same high praises to the staff at Sabor's. Sabor's perfectly compliments the same high standard of hospitality and service provided by Pelican Bay. The food was outstanding and well priced. We definitely would dine again at Sabor's and would not recommend the Ferry House after the inappropriate way they treat their guests.

It is seldom that people are recognized for the good job that they do as people are always quick to only criticize the bad things people do. We hope that you will share this with your staff, that we so appreciated each and everyone of them as they each made our stay at Pelican Bay a stay we will talk about for years to come. And "salute" to the staff at Sabor's. You are all the "BEST"!

I just returned from spending the last 5 days at your resort. My 4 friends and I had a wonderful time, and were very impressed with the service.

I want to especially thank a man and woman working in the security office who helped me rent a bike. I wish I could remember their names, but the woman was wearing a white shirt and the man had strained ligaments (like me!) and sometimes rode a bike around the property. I had injured my feet and couldn't walk very well, and they helped get me set up with a bike. Then they called me the next morning to see how I was feeling and how I liked the bike. When I returned the bike the woman even remembered my name, and again asked how I was feeling. They were so kind!

As I was leaving I saw a sign that your hotel had some pin thing for guests to give out for exceptional service - so I would like to give mine to them! Thanks again for a great trip.

Third Time … Still a Charm.
My husband and I returned to Pelican Bay for 10 days/ 9 nights. Our third year in a row and it was just a wonderful as our past stays. We booked our stay with Judy at Angleradventures.com as my husband goes bonefishing (H20 Bonefishing, run by Greg Vincent is at the resort, see their website at H20bonefishing.com) while I love to spend my days at the beach. Pelican Bay offers beautiful waterfront rooms for which we booked a deluxe and were upgraded to a suite upon arrival.

The staff at Pelican Bay is attentive and friendly. If you need anything, see Tara at the front desk--she is a doll!. And Stan "the man" at the front door is one of the nicest guys you will meet! Construction is on-going at the entrance to Pelican Bay. They are adding a new restaurant for breakfast on the top floor looking over the water, as well as meeting rooms and banquet room. It is supposed to be done October '09, and looks like it will be quite beautiful. Except for seeing it...you would never know construction was going on...never heard it! Once opened, the breakfast area at the Neptune Pool will return to being a pool with swim up bar. You also have the "quiet pool" and the main pool, which is next to Sabor Restaurant and Bar. All three pools are waterfront, and you can watch the boats go in and out all day should you decide to hang out at one of them. Pool/beach towels are available at the front desk. A water taxi (hourly from 8:15am till 11pm--no charge) stops right next to the main pool and takes you to Taino Beach Resort: gorgeous beach, the largest pool on Grand Bahama Island ( offers a swim up bar, lazy river and water slide) and a restaurant with lunch available al fresco...dinner, too. Do not miss it!!

An important note! Yes, you can cross the street and go to the beach at the Westin and Sheraton ("Our Lucaya"). The beaches are open to anyone BUT unless you want to sit on a towel...the Westin does not rent chairs at all, and I understand the the Sheraton will rent you a chair on the beach for $10...$20 if you want use of the pools. Why would anyone want to do that when Taino Beach and its' facilities use are free to Pelican Bay guests?

A five minute walk and you are in the middle of the Lucaya Marketplace offering shopping, bars, and restaurants from sandwiches to gourmet dining! Still our favorite...La Dolce Vita. This year a new latin fusion restaurant opened called Agave. It was excellent! Construction on a new club/lounge "The Neptune", featuring smooth jazz is almost finished. The (full) casino is just across from the Marketplace. Snorkeling, Diving, Boat rentals, Booze Cruises and the like are available right at the marina next door. Mopeds available too, but remember they drive on the "wrong" side! Heard that bonefishing is excellent in November...think we will be going again for a long weekend. Can't wait to go back!

We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay. We were there for just about two weeks starting April 1, 2008. Everything was just perfect. We also wanted to thank you for putting us in touch with Paddy. Not only is she the most hospitable, friendly, kind, reliable person, we felt she was very fair in what she charged to drive us around, we will definitely use her again and we are looking forward to coming to the Pelican again we cannot imagine staying anywhere else. Just returned from our vacation at Pelican Bay at Lucaya ... and wanted you to know that we had a wonderful time.... this was our first trip to the Bahamas and we enjoyed it so much that it won't be our last... our room was steps to the pool and overlooked the entrance to the Marina where we watched the boats come and go each day... Breakfast was just right and made for a pleasant start to our day... I really enjoyed the ferry to Tiano Beach.. the staff was always friendly and happy to help us in any way they could... The Marketplace was ideal for restaurants and shopping... Thank you for a great vacation.. and if there is some way you can forward this to the Manager of Pelican Bay I would greatly appreciate it...
