THE
GRAY-GOVE WEDDING
Brittney Gray & Matthew Gove, Atlanta,
GA
Brittney and Matt wanted an intimate destination wedding surrounded
by family and friends, but more importantly, wanted to be respectful of their
guests' budgets. "Pelican Bay was the perfect size for a 50 person wedding -
big enough for everyone to have their own space and vacation time, but small
enough for two families to get to know each other in a couple of days time.
Since most of our guests were flying in from Atlanta, it was an easy flight and
moderately priced."
They kicked off the festivities with a private
bridesmaid's luncheon waterside at Pelican Bay's Ferry House restaurant and
enjoyed a casual rehearsal dinner in Freeport. Brittney chose an array of white
flowers: Asiatic lilies, hydrangea and roses and walked down the grassy aisle
strewn with petals. Her bridesmaids wore turquoise gowns that captured the
essence of the crystal waters, while the groom and his groomsmen were dapper in
white and khaki, reminiscent of the soft warm sands. Marva Munroe coordinated
all of the lovely details, including the turquoise and white Chinese lanterns
adorning the gazebo and ensured each guest had a palm fan tied with ribbon.
Brittney and Matt celebrated under a tent covered in hundreds of twinkle lights
that reflected off the water. Michel Berda of King Street Photo Weddings
captured all of the magic!
After the reception, Mr. & Mrs. Gove and
their guests continued the celebration at the Isle of Capri Casino, with the
bride still in her wedding gown. "Everyone we have spoken to said they had an
amazing time and it was the best wedding they have ever been to! I would
recommend Pelican Bay to anyone who wants a destination wedding." And the best
part? "Being able to spend a lot time with all of our loved ones. I wish we
could do it all over again!"
